Gatherings Floral Design is comprised of a team of flower lovers extraordinaire! With close to two decades of experience, they are well-versed in all types of occasions in New York City and the surrounding tri-state area. Yet their love for flowers and the constant innovation in design and available varieties which are part of the floral industry keep their dedication strong. Not to mention their clients! Discovering along with their clients what they envision and making those ideas into reality, is the most rewarding part of the job.

Each member of Gatherings Floral Design has been pulled into a life-long love affair with flowers that has sustained them through many other phases. Founder Barbara Mele's earliest memories are of working alongside her grandmother, a landscape architect and professor at Notre Dame University. These memories are what inspired her to floristry. In 2000, she got her first job in a retail shop and has never looked back. Since then, her experiences have ranged from mom & pop shops to boutiques servicing private clientele to the zoos of event production. In 2015, with her family settled, she established Gatherings and opened the doors for business. Alongside running this shop in beautiful Tudor City, home to many other elite florists, such as Michael George and Ariella Chezar, Barbara is a proud teacher at the FlowerSchool of New York, a position which has put her in touch with new flower lovers from all over the world.
